Calumet Environment Center

Located along the edge of the 155-acre industrial brownfield, the proposed environmental center reclaims post-industrial infrastructure into public space.  This building appropriates what once was a barrier and transforms it into the primary connection between physical and historical landscapes, such as adjacent and residential and ecological vicinity.  The existing structure of the bridge frames vistas that outline ecological and industrial phenomena from past to present.
